Meet the Doctors
Meet the experienced and friendly eye doctors who make Summit Vision Source a proud provider of vision care products and services in Frisco.
James K. Cutler, O.D.
After selling his practices in Illinois, Dr. Cutler wanted to spend the rest of his career in the Colorado Mountains. He could find no better place than Summit County.
Dr. Cutler brings years of expertise in complex contact lens fittings including rigid, soft, Synergeyes, and Orthokeratology, as well as eye disease treatment and dry eye management. He has been awarded the Paragon Vision Sciences Award, Keyperson of the year for Illinois IOA, Best Eye Doctor in Will County for 2017 and 2018.
He enjoys spending his free time with his soulmate Kat and 3 children and squeezing in some hockey, skiing, and biking when he can.

Dr. Cutler is on the hockey board and participates in fundraising and other aspects of Summit Youth Hockey.
Heather Adams, O.D.
Dr. Adams was born and raised in Rockville, MD and attended the University of Maryland for her degree in Molecular Genetics. She went on to graduate Summa Cum Laude from Southern College of Optometry where she received multiple awards for Clinical Excellence.
She completed externships at Milan Eye Center in Atlanta, GA focusing on surgical co-management and ocular disease, as well as at a private practice in Steamboat Springs, CO. After her time in Colorado, she fell in love with the mountains and couldn’t think of a better place to practice full-scope medical optometry.
Dr. Adams enjoys treating dry eye, fitting specialty contacts, and managing disease. She values her patients’ input and prioritizes making decisions about their eye health as a team.
In her free time, she enjoys yoga, live music, hiking, and anything outdoors!
Summit Vision Source has been chosen by The University of Missouri St. Louis College of Optometry to serve as adjunct faculty for Optometric Externs. Students carefully select rotations outside of the University to gain diversity in their patient care experience and management of visual disorders. These student doctors are in their final year of a 4-year doctorate program and have undergone extensive clinical studies, including procedural training. They bring an enthusiastic, fresh perspective in patient care and keep us at the forefront of Optometric care and clinical studies.
We are so appreciative of our patient’s willingness to be an integral part of shaping the future of our profession!
